Like most people, I wear more than one hat. One of my other hats that I proudly wear is Garlic Mama. A trip to a local farmer's market, and a discussion with a seasoned garlic grower led to my adventures in becoming a garlic farmer.  I have never looked back. Being a lover of good food made with quality ingredients has always been a priority for me in my 30 years of cooking for a large family. When "mama's nest" started to become empty, I filled it with growing food that nurtures the soul. Food to moan for, I call it. Garlic Mama Scape Salt was inspired by one of our 4 adventurous kids cycling through Europe and cooking on the road. He soon discovered the challenge of cooking on the road was made better by seasoned salts. He even brought some home for me. I began to experiment with garlic scapes, and imported Tamise Certified Organic Sea Salt from France, to compliment the gentle flavor of the garlic scapes. It was delicious! We started using it as a top dressing on our Seiglinde potatoes, and on fish. It soon appeared on our fried eggs, and in soups and stews. Basically we use it on EVERYTHING, except in baking. However, on of our sons who loves to bake bread, uses it as a top dressing on his homemade bagels, garlic scape salt and pepper. I now carry a small vial of it in my purse, just in case I encounter a meal that could use a little Garlic Mama Scape Salt!
